Ordering Handblown Murano Chandeliers direct from Venice, Italy:

I have done business twice with a company in Venice on the island of Murano. Originally I placed an order in person when visiting Murano to have an eight arm chandelier shipped to me in the states. Their estimation of the arrival was off by a couple months, but no big deal. The chandelier came in parts to be assembled upon arrival. Fortunately I know how to wire a chandelier or lamp, so it was not a problem. When they know the chandelier is being made for the States, they include parts appropriate for our standard electric current rather than Europe's.The second Murano chandelier that I ordered came a bit sooner than expected--it arrived in about 3 or 4 months. And again, I assembled and wired it here. Expect to pay the delivery company an additional 40 or 50 dollars for the customs fees, that they kindly pay on your behalf when they pick the lighting fixture up at a port. You can see our large ten arm chandelier as we hung it here. It is larger and prettier than it looks in the photos, everyone who sees it says that. To me, a Venetian handblown glass chandelier absolutely MAKES a room. Any room.
