I made these pages really quickly & you can too.
First I printed the Palm Tree sheet from
the Happy All Over Set in the largest size (100%). A bit of the bottom of the palm trees
was off the page, but that was OK. I trimmed the print & matted it on blue paper in a
color close to the color of the waves.
I
took a kitchen glass and drew a circle on the back of a scrap of yellow and cut it out
adding the small 'rays' as I cut. They are not exact. I traced the cut out sun onto scrap
paper to work out my title lettering spacing before I drew on the sun.
I matted the photo in hot pink because that
was a color present in both girls swim suits. Then I took a an Exacto knife and cut
around the top branches of the palm trees to slip the photo under. Lastly, I added a bit of
journaling with a blue gel pen between the waves.
Total time= about 15 minutes.
This photo just seemed to have that 'Movie
Star' look ! I used a sheet of the Happy All Over paper and cut around the corner of the
camera to slide the photo under.
I
matted the photo uncropped with a big border to help isolate the photo from the busy
background. I choose a color from the swim suit. I cut the pink 'balloon' from a lighter
pink scrap and traced it onto paper and worked out my wording before writing in it.
The pink 'balloon' seemed to need something
to help it stand out (plus you could see thru it a bit), so I matted it with a scrap of
the hot pink paper that also matches a color in the swim suit and the background paper I
matted the whole composition onto.
Another *quickie*--about 15 minutes.
In these photos, Elizabeth had on zany blue
heart shaped sunglasses. The photo is a little dark under the brim of her hat, but the
title helps 'bring out' the sunglasses.
I printed the blue star paper from the Happy All Over set on my ink
jet printer and cut the white edge off following the tips of the stars. I chose it because
it has sort of a splashy water look. The print is glued to an aqua blue background sheet.
I tried different angles and settled on a diagonal slant since it indicated more movement
like splashes really have.
To make the sunglasses title, I folded a
scrap in two and sketched a heart with a bit of a nose bridge, cut it out while still
folded, then unfolded it & used it for a pattern to cut the darker blue paper.
I trimmed off some edge on one heart from
the scrap pattern and used it as a pattern to cut the dark blue insides, which I glued on
top.
Yellow seemed like a good choice to mat the
photos, indicating sunshine.
Total time= about 20 minutes.
