Instructions for Quick, 2 Sheet Pop-Up Mothers Day Card
(Regular Construction Instructions Here)

Free printable mothers day card bouquet

If you don't have the time to make the regular version of this card, you can use this quicker method. The only difference is that on the back of the bouquet you will use an all-over print that you put on the back of the paper that you print the bouquet (as shown at left) on instead of printing the exact bouquet and cutting 4 and lining them up to glue together) .

Be sure to use bright white cardstock. Regular letter weight paper will not stand up right. Print all pages at 100% size.

1. You will only need to print out one Floral Bouquet for either the pastel floral card or the bright floral card (your choice) .

4. Print and cut out the flower pot page and score on the fold lines. We find it's easiest to score on a surface with a little give, like paper (that won't transfer ink to your project) or a mouse pad. You can use a scoring tool or a ball point pen out of ink, or just any pointy object. You can even score with the rounded end of a paperclip.

Glue info how make a mothers day card

We like using a glue stick since the are a very dry form of glue and don't ooze out or cause the paper to wrinkle. You can use any glue, just don't use too much.

You are gonna put glue in three places. Scroll down to see photos below before you glue.

how to make a free mothersday card Fold the end tabs under. You will bring each of them around and glue to the inside of the flower pot. One side makes a small square and the other side makes a rectangle once glued. See photos below. Scroll down to see photos below before you glue.

6. On either end you will lap over two 'fold panels' and tuck the tab w/ glue on it under. Mash them down flat and later you will have perfect alignment for the finished card to fold flat. Scroll down to see photos below before you glue.

Here we are holding the glued sections down flat until the glue on the tabs dries. Scroll down to see photos below before you glue.

Glue the flower vase
folding mothers day card to print 7. You then bring the two glued sections around to meet each other and they form a perfect little square vase. You put some glue on the flat part of the smaller glued square and press it to the larger one so you have the shape shown below.

You will apply glue to the smaller flat section that joins up to the larger rectangle section.

Now flatten the whole vase so you know that the glue dries in a way that the vase can fold perfectly flat for the envelope. Hold vase flat as glue dries.

The vase or flower pot will be a little square shape with three interior compartments. It will fold completely fat if you did it right.

Scothc tape on folded card8. Slide your pieces together slipping the slits in each other. Line up the bottom "stem" edges and ends so they are even. Flatten it out. Then put a little piece of tape on the seam near the top . For even more stability you can flip it over and tape that side the same exact way. We outlined where our tape is on photo .

folding card 9. Slide the bouquet into the pot. It can go 2 ways, with the stems on the front of the internal narrow section or behind. We found it works best in front, (not behind as in the photo to the left).
Mothers day folded flat card Before gluing make sure everything is going to fold flat.
Standing flower pot card for mothersGreetings cut out Now add glue to the correct sides to make sure the stem part goes against the side of the pot inside. Double check! Press it down flat to make sure the glue takes hold, but then open it back out! Otherwise if there is any glue oozing or excess anywhere your card will not want to open back up once the glue is dried.
10. Another option we have made for you are pre-printed or black message medallions that you can cut-out and slip into your bouquet.

On this card, we cut straight in from the right edge following along the outer edge of 2 of the purple flower petals so we could tuck the medallion in. Use a little tape on back to hold the medallion in place.

FINISHED CARD ready to mail !

Fold it flat and slide it into an envelope. It should go for regular postage. At least ours did when we took one to the post office and had them weigh it. And we even used a large envelope.

Free printable cards for mothers day You can mail this card in a standard long business sized envelope.
